Tata Motors' November sales dip 30 pc

The company said total sales of passenger vehicles stood at 14,327 units in the domestic market in November, against 16,322 units in the same month last year, a decline of 12.22 per cent.

The Indica reported sales of 9,039 units, down 13.8 per cent over November last year, Tata Motors said in a statement.

The Indigo family recorded sales of 3,477 units, up 73 per cent over November last year. The Sumo and Safari accounted for sales of 1,811 units, a decline of 52.6 per cent compared with November 2007.

In the commercial vehicles segment, sales in November in the domestic market stood at 16,229 units compared with 26,895 units sold in the same month last year, down 39.66 per cent.

LCV sales during the month were at 10,437 units, a decline of 16 per cent over last year, while M&HCV sales stood at 5,792 units, down 60 per cent compared with November last year.

Cumulative sales of passenger vehicles in the domestic market for the fiscal in the eight months were 1,29,246 units, down 5.5 per cent over the same period last year.

Commercial vehicles' cumulative sales in the domestic market for the fiscal were 1,81,123 units, a growth of 3 per cent over last year, the company said.
