Singing revolutionary songs written by poets such as by Faiz Ahmad Faiz and Majaz, the teachers, joined by some students, used the words of the famous revolutionary poets to say what they felt about the decision of the university to implement the semester system in the coming session.

Singing songs and reciting poems such as ‘Hum dekhangay’ and ‘Bol ki lab aazad hai’ the large group of teachers along with students from several departments, held a candle light vigil to protest the semesterisation of the undergraduate courses.

The teachers termed the decision of the varsity as “an obsession with a label” and “fragmentation” of education.
