For someone who’s part of post-production, the technical know-how is important. One needs to be trained in editing and sound.
A degree is not everything. You could be hired on the basis of experience.
A thorough knowledge of Hindi is very important since most of the shows are scripted in Hindi.
Television is a 24x7 medium. This means that it’s not a 9-to-5 job. One needs a lot of passion to be able to work the long and erratic hours.
Because of the fierce competition, one has to be able to think out of the box.
The learning curve can be very steep. A lot is expected even from newcomers, so one needs the drive to deliver.
