Threat to verma: court seeks report from police

A city court on Wednesday asked the Delhi Police to submit a report on a plea by businessman Abhishek Verma’s wife Anca Maria Neascu for a separate van to ferry between jail and court due to alleged extortion threats sent to her.

Special judge Sanjeev Jain directed the Delhi police to file the report by October 20, saying, “Copy of the (Anca’s) application and report of the jail superintendent be sent to the DCP, third battalion, for report/comment for the next date of hearing. Application be listed for consideration for October 20.”

Anca, who is lodged in Tihar jail, had alleged that Rashmi, one of the women undertrial prisoner is making extortion threats to her.
Kishan is the wife of Hari Kishan Sharma, key accused in the R5.25 crore heist that took place recently in Defence Colony.

Anca, under judicial custody along with her husband for their alleged involvement in various cases, has moved the court asking for a separate van for her transportation.
