Three persons were arrested for stealing foreign currency worth Rs 40 lakh from a money transfer firm in west Delhi, police said on Sunday.

According to the police, two workers of a money transfer company were caught after they approached the police to lodge a complaint that a bag containing currency was snatched from them while they were going to their office on October 31.

When their statements raised suspicion, the duo was left in a room where they discussed sharing one-third of the stolen amount. The office boys — Gaurav Siwadh and Rohit Kumar — had hatched the plot along with Gurdeep Singh, a property dealer, said V Renganathan, ACP (west).

“The two were deliberately left alone in the room. They discussed the distribution of money,” he said.
