The car packed with members of the family, including children, struck the police control room van so hard that it pushed against a road divider on its right before hitting a tree. The incident occurred in Sunder Nagar near around 1.50am when the policemen were patrolling the area.
“The vehicle was a few metres away from DPS Mathura road when a car that was being driven recklessly rammed our vehicle in the rear,” said an officer.
ASI Vinod and constables Chander Sain and Dara Singh, despite their injury, managed to overpower the driver of the car. “He was identified as one Merajuddin, a 24-year-old resident of Sangam Vihar. His family members, including three women and two children, were also injured in the accident,” said the officer.
The police control room was informed of the accident and a team came to the spot to take the injured to AIIMS.
