Top cop unable to make it to Delhi Assembly

The Delhi Police commissioner's office has requested the government to exempt police chief Neeraj Kumar from being present in the Assembly on Thursday for taking part in a discussion on deteriorating law and order situation in Delhi.

In a letter to home secretary Arvind Ray, joint commissioner of police Dependra Pathak said Kumar has to attend a standing committee meeting of the Parliament.
