‘Tortured’ boys undergo medical test

The boys, in the age group of 14-16 years and found by mediapersons at the Ghaziabad railway junction, had alleged physical abuse and torture by their teachers in the madarsa.

The boys appeared before the Ghanta Ghar police station and were represented by Munne Khan Alvi, a lawyer in the Ghaziabad court.

Alvi requested the police to conduct the medical examination of the boys since they were physically abused and tortured at the madarsa, SP (City) A.K. Vijeta told HT.

The police ordered a medical examination at the MMG district hospital but refused to lodge an FIR over the allegations as the alleged incident had take place in Delhi.

"We have ordered a medical examination but the FIR in the case will be lodged by the Delhi Police as the alleged torture took place in Delhi," SSP Raghubir Lal said.

At the hospital for a medical check up, one of the boys said there were around 55 students in the said madarsa and around 25 children had fled after they were "tortured" by their teachers.
