A 40-year-old woman died after she got stuck between a truck and a wall in south Delhi's Pul Prahladpur area on Monday night.

The vehicle overturned on the wall after its wheels got stuck into a ditch.

The truck was being driven by the woman's husband when it fell into the pit while it was being reversed. The woman was identified as Zareena and she lived with her husband Afsar Ali and children in Lal Kuan, police said.

According to a police officer, the couple had recently purchased a plot in the locality on which they were planning to build a house. On Monday afternoon, they went to Badarpur along with some labourers in the truck to buy construction material.

"They returned to their plot in the night. Zareena was helping her husband to reverse the truck and park it at a proper place. The left wheels of the truck fell into a cemented pit and fell towards Zareena and she was stuck between it and a wall," said a police officer. It took rescue teams more an hour to bring her out Zareena.

Zareena was rushed to AIIMS where doctors pronounced her dead on arrival. Police suspect she could have died of cardiac attack as there were no external injury marks on her body.

Her autopsy report is awaited, the officer added.
