S.west delhi Police suspect illicit or strained relationship behind murder

Panic gripped Pankha Road locality near Sagarpur in southwest Delhi after parts of a woman's body were found stuffed in two jute sacks at two different places on Friday morning. According to police, the body parts include two legs and the head of a woman, which were kept in separate sacks.

One of the sacks was dumped in a drain near the Kali Mata temple while the other was thrown in a drain located behind the Desu Colony bus stop. The police have registered a case of murder at the Sagarpur police station and are looking for the remaining parts of the woman's body.

Investigators are trying to establish the identity of the victim and have alerted all the police stations in Delhi and NCR to give a list of women missing from their areas in the past two-three days. The police suspect illicit or strained relationship could be behind the brutal murder.

A senior police officer said the incident came to light at around 10.15 am after some local residents discovered a jute sack containing two legs and called to the Police Control Room (PCR).

When team reached the spot and started collecting evidence, another call was made to the PCR regarding discovery of a similar jute sack in another drain.

“The team reached the spot and found the head of a woman. Since both the sacks had similarities, we got reasons to believe that the recovered body parts were of the same woman,” said the officer, adding the victim was between the age of 30 and 35 years and was married.
