Woman stabbed to death by husband

A 35-year-old woman was stabbed to death, allegedly by her husband, in west Delhi’s Keshavpur area on Sunday. The woman’s body was found by her younger son.

“The incident came to light at 10am when we received information that a woman was lying in a pool of blood at her residence in Keshavpur village. We reached the spot to find the deceased, identified as Nisha Tyagi, lying in her bedroom with stab injuries all over her chest and stomach,” said a senior police officer, adding that her 38-year-old husband, Pravesh Tyagi has been absconding since the incident took place.

“After getting up, the victim’s 13-year-old son called out to his mother. When there was no response, he called out to his father but he too didn’t respond. The child then walked up to his parents’ bedroom and saw his mother lying dead on the bed,” the officer said.

The boy immediately informed the rest of the family, after which a call to the police control room was made.

The police have registered a case of murder at the Vikaspuri police station and efforts are now on to nab the husband.
