“There was a heart-shaped tattoo on the victim’s right arm. To identify the body, descriptions of all missing persons were checked and on the basis of the tattoo mark the body was identified as Virender, a resident of Garhi Burari,” said I.B. Rani, DCP (north). The arrested woman has been identified as Savita, alias Anjali (32).

During investigation, the police found that Virender had an illicit relationship with Savita. “During interrogation, Savita disclosed that she had illicit relations with Virender and she wanted to discontinue the same. However, Virender pressurised her to continue the affair. To eliminate Virender, Savita contacted her friends Gautam and Kuldeep,” said Rani.

On the fateful day, Savita called Virender at Yamuna Pushta, Burari at 4am.

“When he reached Yamuna Pushta, the trio and a juvenile first hit him with the car and then dragged him towards the fields. They then stoned him to death,” Rani further said.
