According to police, a biker fired at Arvind Kumar when he was returning from work.

Arvind, 25, who is a resident of Chhajarsi, was rushed to a private hospital where his condition is said to be stable.

Arvind, who works for a company in D Block of Sector 63, has alleged that his father-in-law opened fire at him.

An FIR was registered against his father-in-law Surender Singh Yadav at the Sector 58 police station after Arvind's wife Pooja's written complaint.

"Arvind Kumar is from Auraiya, Uttar Pradesh. He got married to Pooja, who was his neighbour in Auraiya, a year ago. He told the police that Pooja's parents were against their marriage and had threatened to kill him," said a senior police officer.

"On Friday night, Arvind was returning home when a motorcyclist shot at him and fled the spot," the officer added.

"We have begun the investigation. A team will soon be sent to Auraiya," said the officer.
