JEE Main 2023 Session 2 Live Updates: Day 5 of Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2023 is being conducted today, April 12. National Testing Agency (NTA) is holding the Engineering entrance test in two shifts. The first shift ended at 12 pm and the second shift started at 3 pm. JEE Main admit card for April 11 and April 12 exams have been released and it can be downloaded from jeemain.nta.nic.in. 

When each shift is over, analysis of JEE Main paper shared by subject experts and candidates will be available here. 

Candidates must follow the reporting time and dress code mentioned on their JEE Mains admit cards. They need to carry printout of all pages of the admit card along with the asked documents for the exam. Follow this blog for all the latest updates on JEE Mains exam.

JEE Main 2023: Analysis of Morning shift

Physics was rated as easy to moderate on the difficulty level. It consisted mostly of easy & moderate questions. Most of the questions were NCERT based and were evenly distributed among all major units.

Chemistry was rated as the easiest section. The number of questions in Physical Chemistry was more than Inorganic Chemistry and Organic Chemistry.

Mathematics was rated as moderate to difficult. Questions were asked from all chapters. Emphasis was on Algebra & on Calculus.

JEE Mains Exam: Mathematics section was tough 

Mathematics – Moderately Tough level. Questions were asked from all chapters with emphasis on Chapters of Coordinate Geometry & Calculus. Mixed Concept Questions were asked from Circles, Ellipse, Hyperbola. In Algebra chapters covered where Vectors (2 questions), 3 D Geometry (3 to 4 questions), Binomial Theorem, Progressions, Matrices, Mathematical Reasoning, Statistics (2 questions), Permutation & Combination, Probability. In Calculus- Functions (3 questions), Definite Integrals (2 questions), Area, Differential Equations. Numerical Section had lengthy calculations. Few questions were reported as Tricky.

Chemistry – Easy to Moderate Level. Inorganic Chemistry was given more weightage compared to Physical & Organic Chemistry. Numerical Based questions were mostly from Physical Chemistry – Solutions, Electrochemistry, Chemical Kinetics, Ionic Equilibrium. Questions also asked from Chemistry in Everyday Life, p & d block, Phenols, Coordination Compounds. Some mixed concept questions were asked in Organic Chemistry involving Amines, Aldehydes & Ketones, Biomolecules, Polymers. Some students reported Match the following questions in Inorganic Chemistry as time consuming and tricky. Organic Chemistry was reported tricky.

The chemistry paper was Easy level. Inorganic & Organic Chemistry were asked equally and had more questions as compared to Physical Chemistry. The Numerical Section had questions from chapters like Chemical Kinetics, and Electrochemistry. There were mixed concept questions from Alcohols, Ethers & Phenols, and Aryl & Alkyl halides in Organic Chemistry. Inorganic Chemistry had questions from s-block, p-block, Chemical Bonding, Co-ordination Compounds and Metallurgy.

JEE Main 2023 admit card: Instructions for exam day

  1. Take printout of the admit card on A4 paper, in colour. Print all pages.
  2. Fill the self-declaration form in your own handwriting but do not sign it. You have to do it in the exam venue in front of an invigilator. 
  3. Bring the required documents and follow all the guidelines mentioned on admit cards. 
  4. When the exam is over, drop the admit card on the box provided. Talk to an invigilator if there is any doubt.

Physics paper was easy. Weightage was given to chapters on Kinematics, Laws of Motion, Rotational Motion, Magnetism, SHM & Waves, Electrostatics, Current Electricity, Ray Optics, Wave Optics, Semiconductors and Modern Physics. Numerical-based questions were reported as Easy. Chapters of XII Class had more weightage. Assertion -Reasoning questions had mixed concepts.
