The forms for the online admission process will be available to students from May 27, after a month-long delay. Students will also be able to browse an information manual online about the admission process.

To fill up registration forms for first year junior college (FYJC), aspirants can log on to two websites this year. The forms for the online admission process will be available to students from May 27, after a month-long delay. Students will also be able to browse an information manual online about the admission process.

To overcome the delay in form filling and reduce the strain on the main admissions portal, the office of the deputy director of education, Mumbai region has also set up a separate website (www.dydemumbai.org) this year. Instructions pertaining to the admission process have already been uploaded on the website, while officials said that they will also put up the registration forms soon.

“We have made this provision available on our website this year so that students can access instructions from anywhere,” said BD Phadtare, deputy director of education.

The hard copies of the manual containing the students login ID and password will be distributed to schools on May 27. Students can collect it from their respective schools by paying a fee of Rs 150.

Applicants will be able to start filling their registration forms after getting the login ID. The forms will also be available on the new website.

“In the past years, we discovered that the main admissions portal hangs when form filling begins as large number of students access it,” said Phadtare. “So we are going to keep an option of filling the registration forms from our website too.”

However, he added that option form on the main portal will be available after the results of the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) exams are declared. The board has not yet announced the date for the results this year. Last year, the results were announced on June 17.
