Some great internship opportunities for you

On-campus internships will be on offer at DU, Jamia

Students at institutions such as Delhi University (DU), Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI), Ambedkar University, Delhi (AUD) and Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University can look forward to on-campus internship opportunities in the next few months.

While DU is going to announce an internship programme for students wherein they will be privy to administrative work at the Viceregal Lodge (the vice chancellor’s office), JMI’s department of tourism, hotel, hospitality and heritage studies, in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism, will organise a 21-day training programme, Earn While You Learn, from January 28, 2012.

The programme is aimed to familiarise students with all aspects of tourism, equip them with the relevant skills and train students to work as volunteers. Various aspects related to the overview of tourism, travel and hospitality industry will be covered in the programme with study tours for hands-on practical exposure.

The last date of submission of application forms for this programme is January 17, 2012, while the entrance exam will be held on January 22, 2012. College students in the age group of 18 to 25 can apply for this programme. They will also be paid Rs 1000 as stipend. The application form can be downloaded from www.jmi.ac.in.

GGSIPU is likely to introduce on campus training opportunities for its students in areas such as public relations, legal awareness and general administration from the next academic session. At AUD, students have the option of taking charge of things at the computer lab and library and boost their administrative and leadership skills.
