WBBSE president Kalyanmoy Ganguly had earlier told HT that the results will be declared on May 21 and on the same day the students will be able to collect their marksheets from their respective schools.
This year the results will be declared much ahead of what it was in 2018. Last year, Madhyamik results were announced on June 6. The pass percentage last year was 85.49%.
In 2019, West Bengal’s Class 10 board examination started on February 12 and continued till February 22. This year the number of aspirants stood at 10,64,980, a dip by 18,408 than what it was in 2018. Of the total of 10,64,980 students, 6,03,311 (56.65%) were girls and 4,61,669 (43.35%) were boys.
Following reports of question paper leaks during the previous years, in 2019, WBBSE took a number of precautionary measures including changing the norms of opening question paper packets.
