Kerala Election: Kozhikode North Assembly Constituency 2022

Kozhikode North is one of the 140 Kerala Legislative Assembly Constituencies that comes under the Kozhikode district. People of Kozhikode North voted for Kerala Assembly Election 2021 on April 6 and the result was declared on May 2.

Kozhikode North assembly constituency had 1,69,103 electors in 2016, out of which 79,754 were male voters and 89,349 females. The None of the Above (NOTA) option got 0.5% votes.

What happened last time

In 2016, 9 candidates were competing for Kozhikode North assembly constituency seat. Kozhikode North was one of 58 seats won by the Indian National Congress. It was a one way contest with Communist Party Of India (Marxist)'s A Pradeep Kumar comfortably winning the election defeating Indian National Congress's Adv. P M Suresh Babu by a huge margin of 27,873 votes.

The top three candidates split 98.9% of votes between them. Communist Party Of India (Marxist)'s A Pradeep Kumar got a total of 64,192 votes, while Indian National Congress's Adv. P M Suresh Babu secured 36,319 votes. Bharatiya Janta Party's candidate K P Sreesan grabbed the third spot with 29,860 votes. The top three parties got 48.7%, 27.5% and 22.6% respectively.

In Kerala Assembly election 2011, Communist Party Of India (MARXIST)'s A. Pradeep Kumar beat Indian National Congress's P.V Gangadharan by 8,998 votes.
