The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has recorded an emphatic win in the 2022 Uttar Pradesh Assembly election, living up to pre-poll predictions of scoring well over the majority mark of 202 in the 403-member Assembly. Reacting to the win, actor-turned-politician Hema Malini said the party already knew it would form the government in UP. "We have worked for every developmental aspect of the state," she said, adding,"...which is why the public trusts us."

Taking a jibe at its closest rival, the Samajwadi Party (SP), Hema Malini said, "Nothing can come in front of a bulldozer... it can finish everything within a minute, be it cycle or anything else."

Along with UP, the BJP is also set to win Uttarakhand and Manipur.
In Goa, it is in a tight race with Congress.
Celebrations have already kicked-off in the party's Lucknow office. Visuals from the UP capital show BJP workers playing Holi and waving the party flag.
