Independent candidate Aman Mani Tripathi won the election by upstaging Samajwadi Party's Kunwar Kaushal Kishore Singh (MUNNA SINGH) by a margin of 32,256 votes.

81.4% of the total votes were casted to top three candidates. Independent candidate Aman Mani Tripathi grabbed a total of 79,666 votes, while Samajwadi Party's Kunwar Kaushal Kishore Singh (MUNNA SINGH) got 47,410 votes. Bharatiya Janata Party's candidate Sameer Tripathi bagged 45,050 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties registered 37.7%, 22.4% and 21.3% respectively.

In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Indian National Congress's Kaushal Kishor outperformed Samajwadi Party's Aman Mani Tripathi by 7,837 votes.
