The party is getting massive support of the people across the state in the polls, he said.

Addressing public meetings in Sonbhadra, Mishra said under the four BSP governments, Uttar Pradesh moved fast on the path of development. “Several development projects were launched in Sonbhadra district. Along with dalits, welfare schemes were launched for tribals, as well. They were allotted land and houses and Maoist activities were checked in the district,” he said.

“The people of the state know that the rule of law was established in Uttar Pradesh and drives were launched against criminals and gangsters during the BSP governments’ tenure. The BSP governments worked without discrimination. Under the BJP government, dalits, Muslims and Brahmins have been terrorised,” he said.

He said district administration officers were working on the direction of BJP leaders. “The body of the dalit Hathras rape victim was not handed over to her family members. To save the culprits, the officers burned the body at midnight,” he said.

The BJP leaders should know that dalits constitute 25% of UP’s population whereas Brahmins constitute 14%. Both the communities cannot be suppressed. The people have decided to bulldoze the BJP government by voting against it, he said.

Hitting out at Samajwadi Party (SP), Mishra said under the SP rule Mafiosi and criminals had a free run. The people are aware of the terror unleashed by the SP government. There is an underhand dealing between the SP and BJP in the ongoing assembly elections, he said.

Mishra said the BJP government privatised public enterprises and the youths are not getting employment.

He said Mayawati had announced to give employment to youths, implement demands of employees and teachers and restore the old pension scheme of employees.
