Aishwarya Rai in Chhattisgarh village's voter list

Pranksters seemed to have entered Aishwarya Rai's name in the electoral voter's list in a village in Chhattisgarh, which commisioners now have to investigate into.

Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai is the native of Chhattisgarh's Jashpur district if the electoral roll in Ghughri village in Pathalgaon is to be believed.

Her name figures in the voter list of Ghughri village which falls under Pathalgaon Assembly constituency. The accompanying photo makes it clear that it is not some namesake, but Mrs Aishwarya Rai Bachchan herself, Jashpur Collector L S Ken said on Monday.

According to the voters' list of polling station No. 15, Aishwarya Rai is 23 years old, and stays in house No. 376 in the village. Her father is purportedly one Dinesh Rai, the collector said.

Nobody by these names live in the area, Ken said, and added that Bagicha Sub Divisional Magistrate K P Dewangan has been asked to probe the matter and submit a report within 15 days. Prima facie it appeared to be a prank, he added.
