“If it wasn’t for music, the tragedy would have destroyed her... She has again started doing riyaaz every morning and evening like an eager student of music. It has given her hope and strengthened her resolve to carry on,” says a source.

Asha’s only daughter Varsha committed suicide Oct 8. The 79-year-old singer had been lying low ever since, but plans to hold a comeback concert, dedicated to Varsha, in January. Asha’s debut film, Mai, which was delayed due to bereavement, will also hit screens in January.
