Veteran singer Asha Bhosle is surely making heads turn on Twitter. "Macchar war is in full swing," tweeted Bhosle. Soon after, that was followed by "Macchar Raj". Was Asha Bhosle taking a dig at MNS chief Raj Thackeray?

After all Thackeray, in yet another controversial statement, blamed the "migrants" and the "outsiders" in Mumbai for the malaria outbreak.

However, soon after she came out defending her earlier tweets. Her last tweet read: 'I was only talking about the machhar (mosquito) problem all over the country. You are seeing some 'hidden' meaning in my words.'

Interestingly, this is not the first time Bhosle has taken a dig at politicians. Last night, she tweeted about the upcoming Commonwealth Games. Her tweet read, "CWG has become DMG (Disaster Management Games)".

Unlike her peers who use Twitter to interact with fans, this gutsy 76-year-old openly expresses her opinion on the site.
