The first family of Bollywood (Amitabh, Aishwarya and Abhishek) is the famous face of Bollywood for westerners. But a cold war ensued when Shilpa Shetty won in the reality show Bigg Brother. She became more popular overseas compared to the Bachchans.

This was only the beginning of the more twists. Big B is the brand ambassador of IIFA. So obviously his fans give him special attention. But owing to Shilpa's newfound celebrityhood abroad, apparently fans wanted more of this leggy lass than Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. It got worse for the Bachchans when a fan of Shilpa's flew a mini airplane above the IIFA awards venue, tagged with a huge flying banner greeting her.

At the event and elsewhere, Bachchan family has kept a conscious distance from the dusky beauty.

Big B replaces Shilpa as the host of Bigg Boss in the upcoing season of the reality show. We wonder if this was a conscious move on his part.
