Tons of famous people have tied the knot this year, of course you remember the Angelina Jolie-Brad Pitt and George Clooney-Amal Alamuddin weddings? Oh and dare we forget the Kim Kardashian-Kanye West wedding circus in Italy? But there is no doubt that Salman Khan's little sister Arpita's wedding with Delhi boy Aayush Sharma at Taj Falaknuma hotel in Hyderabad was the wedding of the year, closer home. All thanks to a lot of wow factors: namely, Bollywood biggies Aamir Khan, Katrina Kaif and of course the bhai himself, Salman Khan.
So, let's take a moment and see which celebs made the cut at Arpita's extravagant nuptials. She may not be a big celeb herself, but the youngest of the Khan siblings sure had a big, fat celeb wedding.
Aamir Khan kept his word. After recently saying that he does not expect an invitation to attend Arpita's wedding because he did not require a formal invitation from the Dabaang star, the Ghajini actor attended the event with wife Kiran Rao.
Guess which other Bollywood A-listers attended Arpita's wedding in Hyderabad? Katrina Kaif! Of course, Karan Johar was there too. Director Kabir Khan, seen with wife Mini Mathur, tweeted this photo from the wedding. In fact, Kaif had even offered her make-up artist to Arpita for the wedding. Celebrity make-up artist and hair stylist Daniel Bauer — who has worked with Katrina Kaif in the past, was been roped in to do the hair and make-up for Arpita.
And we shouldn't forget the family. Arpita's sister-in-law, Malaika Arora Khan, shared this photo of husband Arbaaz, son Arhaan, sister Amrita and her husband, Shakeel Ladak, on Instagram.
Also, Priyanka Chopra, Hrithik Roshan, Deepika Padukone, Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Dharmendra and his wife Hema Malini, and David Dhawan too were reported to have attended the wedding. Watch this space for more!
Now, for some dope on the wedding. The celebrations kicked off with the 'baraat' at 4.30 pm in the heritage hotel. The 'baraat' included horses and two bands, one from Delhi and one from Hyderabad. It was be followed by the 'jaimala' and 'phere'. Word was also out that Salman and his stepmother Helen performed at a wedding party and so did Punjabi singers Mika and Yo Yo Honey Singh.
Salman's father Salim Khan, mother Salma, brothers Arbaaz, Sohail and other family members received the baraat. Top stars from Bollywood and Tollywood, and businessmen were among the 250 guests invited for the wedding.
