Bhediya revolves around Varun's Bhaskar, who transforms into a werewolf after he is bitten by a mythical wolf. The film also stars Deepak Dobriyal, Abhishek Banerjee and Paalin Kabak. Bhediya is dubbed in Telugu as Thodelu.
Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the weekend collection of the film on Twitter. He wrote, “#Bhediya posts a decent total in its opening weekend… Witnesses growth on Day 3… However, #D2 wave has affected its #BO earnings… Needs to have a strong run on weekdays to consolidate its status… Fri 7.48 cr, Sat 9.57 cr, Sun 11.50 cr. Total: ₹ 28.55 cr. #India biz.”
On Sunday, Maddock Films, the production house behind Bhediya, said the two-day box office total of the film stood at ₹26.66 crore gross worldwide following the addition of ₹14.6 crore on day two.
Bhediya received positive reviews for ‘good comedy, novel concept, VFX and strong screenplay’. Abhishek Banerjee has reprised his role of Jana from Stree while Shraddha Kapoor, who played the female lead in Stree, also has a cameo in the film.
After Rajkummar Rao featured in Stree and Roohi, now Ayushmann Khurrana has hinted at joining Dinesh Vijan's horror comedy universe with a movie tentatively titled Vampire. Some reports have suggested Samantha Ruth Prabhu might play a princess in the film. Opening up about the same, Ayushmann told PTI in an interview, “Dinesh Vijan and Amar Kaushik are trying to build a horror universe. It is very interesting and intriguing and it is very new for the Indian audience. So, let’s see when it happens and we will have an official announcement soon."
