Salman Khan threat letter case: Lawrence Bishnoi denies involvement, says Delhi Police
Salman Khan threat letter case: Lawrence Bishnoi has denied his involvement in the letter that was recently sent to Salman Khan and Salim Khan, claiming he does not know who sent it.
After the threat letter sent to Salman Khan and Salim Khan was connected to Lawrence Bishnoi during initial investigation, the gangster has now denied his involvement in the case. On Monday, Lawrence was questioned by a team of Delhi Police. As per news agency ANI, Lawrence said during the investigation he has no hand in the case and also said he is unaware about who sent the letter. Lawrence is also under investigation for the murder of singer-rapper Sidhu Moose Wala, who was killed in Punjab last month. ANI tweeted on Tuesday morning, “Delhi Police questioned jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi in connection with the threat letter to actor Salman Khan. He said that he has no hand in this matter and does not know who issued that letter: Delhi Police.” As per sources, the gangster, who is lodged in Tihar Jail, may be questioned again soon.
Lawrence’s name first emerged during the investigation of Sidhu Moose Wala's killing late last month. Lawrence’s involvement in the case was being speculated because the threat letter contained the initial LB. The letter was discovered by Salim's security team on Sunday. The police subsequently questioned Lawrence since he was allegedly responsible for sending Salman threats once earlier too, in 2018.
“The letter in Hindi said that both Salim Khan and his son would soon meet the same fate as slain singer Sidhu Moose Wala (Tera Moosawala bana denge),” police sources had told ANI on condition of anonymity.
Earlier, the Maharashtra department of Home Affairs upgraded the security cover for Salman after the threat letter. The Mumbai Police had lodged the First Information Report (FIR) on Sunday against an unknown person for sending the 'threat letter'.
Salman was spotted on Monday evening at Mumbai’s Kalina Airport as he took a chartered flight out of the city. The actor was accompanied by his bodyguard Shera as well as armed police personnel. As per some reports, he has flown to Hyderabad to shoot his upcoming film Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali.
