Mallika Sherawat chooses Dirty Politics over Barack Obama

Actress Mallika Sherawat has chosen promotion of her upcoming movie Dirty Politics over attending a party in US where President Barack Obama was also invited as it is the "most important film in my life".



She said she skipped the dinner at the party that was to be attended by Obama. "It is true...I was invited to a dinner in US. I had even confirmed that I was attending it. But then I got a call from KC Bokadia (director) that we have a press meet today. I had to make a decision....For me Dirty Politics is the most important film in my life."



She had met Obama at a tea party in Los Angeles in 2011. She was reportedly invited for tea with Obama during his Presidential campaign visit in Hollywood last year.Mallika has been roped in for the movie by Bokadia to play the lead in the film inspired from Bhanwari's life.

Mallika to meet Bhanwari’s kin

Mallika Sherawat couldn’t be more thrilled about her upcoming film Dirty Politics, where she will play Bhanwari Devi, a midwife from Rajasthan who was allegedly murdered by a Rajasthan politician last year. To do justice to her challenging role in KC Bokadia’s biopic, she is planning to meet Devi’s kin.



"I am going to meet Bhanwari Devi’s family members in Jaipur to understand her better. Since the film deals with politics and politicians, a lot of them won’t be happy but as an actor, I will do my best to do complete justice to my part," says Mallika, adding she doesn’t mind putting on weight to suit the character better if the need arises.

Om Puri, who was so impressed by Mallika Sherawat's decency while shooting an item song with her in Bin Bulaye Baraat, that he insisted that she be called as 'Mallika Sharaafat' rather than Mallika Sherawat.

Not just that, he also expressed his desire to work with her. Well, the answer to his wish is now in the form the film called Dirty Politics, a film based on the alleged murder of Bhanwari Devi by a politician from Rajasthan, in which Mallika will be paired opposite Om Puri himself!

The film's being directed by KC Bokadia, has Mallika being cast as the temptress who seduces the politician and gets murdered in the long run.COMPLETE STORY
