The buzz is that you have become close to Salman of late.
These reports are ridiculous. I don’t know what to say. Salman is a friend and I have a lot of other friends too but naturally, you guys (the media) talk more about Salman because my other friends aren’t so popular (laughs).
Salman is launching your fitness DVD on Bigg Boss.Is that true?
Actually, Salman and I are launching it together on Bigg Boss. The idea is to reach out to maximum people at the grass roots level. I thought the show would be the best platform. And who better to launch it than the fitness icon, who made being fit into business, Salman Khan. He brought in the concept when no one knew about it. Since then, he has been inspiring zillions. Everyone in the business knows that I am very passionate about good health. Definitely, Salman understands that too. It’s not a PR stunt for me because it means a lot to me.
Tell us about the DVD.
It’s a very different attempt since it is a dance workout DVD. In India, people dance without inhibitions at birthdays, weddings and festivals. So I decided that if dancing is so intrinsic to Indians, and since the majority of us hate a typical gym routine, I would come up with something that would interest a lot of people.
Did making it take a lot of time?
Yes, since I am a very hard taskmaster. I like everyone charged up around me (smiles). While shooting, I was physically active for 17-18 hours at times because I would personally train people who were in the video with me. Plus, I was working on it during whatever time I could get after my shooting schedules.
You are also the face of Celebrity Cricket League?
I like watching sports and I am very athletic. Whether it’s the marathon or endorsing sporting products, it comes to me naturally, since I am very sporty.
