What a relief.. to see you without a gun this time. (Laughs) Yes, I am trying to change myself.
D and Risk were released quite a while ago.. did you reinvent yourself during the break? What! No way. I was busy shooting for three films. In Ru Ba Ru, I actually play a normal guy. It’s about love, relationships and ambition. It’s about how someone’s private life can go haywire when he becomes too ambitious.
Your performances in D and Risk were appreciated, though the films were duds. Did you get affected? Yes, I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t affected. My performances were appreciated but commercially I was disappointed. (Laughs) My market price did not rise.. I want to be well-paid like any other actor. Rang Rasiya (directed by Ketan Mehta) should get me wider recognition. And then, there has been Karma, Confessions and Holi.
Where on earth is Karma...? I don’t have the foggiest idea. I completed it a long time ago.
Any side effects from acting with Nandana Sen in Rang Rasiya? (Laughs) I have learnt a lot of Bengali from her.
