"He was here for a very short time. He was very pleasant. This is just an old case that the judge wanted him to get fingerprinted for. It isn't anything new. We did it real quick and he was out," the Sun quoted Sergeant Dean Howard, an officer who dealt with Gibson when he was booked in at the police station, as saying.

Last week, the star was spared jail after pleading no contest to a misdemeanour charge of battery on a spouse or cohabitant.

He was sentenced to 36 months informal probation along with 16 hours community service.

He was also fined a total of 350 pounds and ordered to undertake a year''s domestic violence counselling, along with a year of mental health counselling, with the therapist he has been seeing since January.
