Actress Mamata Patel has complained against an unidentified person, who allegedly threatened her over the phone saying she would face consequences in case she continued to talk against actor Irrfan Khan, police said.
Mamata, who played a bit role in Paan Singh Tomar, had earlier slammed the film's makers and the actor for not giving her enough screen time.
"A Non Cognisable offence has been registered against an unidentified person for making a threatening call to actress Mamata Patel. She received the call yesterday when she was at her home in suburban Bhayandar," said Arun Bhagt, Senior Inspector at Juhu police station.
According to Mamata, the caller told her not to badmouth about Irrfan, police said.
"The actress claimed the caller threatened her that if she continued to talk bad about Irfan, she would face consequences," said an officer at the police station.
Mamata was unhappy with her small role in the movie. She blamed Irrfan and the film's director Tigmanshu Dhulia saying that the duo had falsely promised her a good role in the movie.
