Paul McCartney quits drugs for daughter

At 69, veteran singer Sir Paul McCartney has given up smoking cannabis for the sake of his eight-year-old daughter Beatrice.

At 69, veteran singer Sir Paul McCartney has given up smoking cannabis for the sake of his eight-year-old daughter Beatrice.

"I did a lot, and it was enough. I smoked my share. When you're bringing up a youngster, your sense of responsibility does kick in. Enough's enough," McCartney told Rolling Stone magazine.

The singer, who wed heiress Nancy Shevell last year, has confessed to using drugs throughout his career.

He was even arrested in Japan in 1980 for weed and has admitted trying cocaine and heroin.
