Shibani KashyapShibani Kashyap started her career the way most singers do, by singing jingles. She shot to fame with her album Ho Gayi Hai Mohabbat, that got her a Channel V award. Apart from singing, she has also established herself as a music composer. She composed and sang the romantic Sajnaa aa bhi jaa, the energetic Zinda hoon main and the soulful Alvida, a tribute to the lives lost in the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks. Shibani has composed music for films like Sunday, Woodstock Villa and the more recent Maharathi, and title tracks for serials like Akela and Choona Hai Aasman. Her future film projects are Life, The Great Indian Butterfly, Main Osama and Shapit.

What are you reading at the moment?
I’m reading Broken Music, a memoir by Sting. Highly recommended for musicians.

If you woke up and found you’d turned into a man, you would…
I would head straight to the mental hospital!

Your worst date ever?
It was like a silent movie. Neither of us spoke!

If someone were to write a biography of you, what would you want it to be called?
I’d like it to be called Sojourn.

Your song for all moods?
Unforgettable by Nat King Cole.

Your idea of a great weekend?
Drive down to Lonavala, hang out at the Rainmakers shack, gorge on some awesome food and play my guitar.

Your most recent purchase?
An upright piano (Yamaha). It looks and sounds great.

The craziest thing you’ve done for your partner?
I drove in the middle of the night to meet my first love – without my glasses!

What shocks you?

Terrorism appalls and shocks me.

Which current reality show would you participate in?
Comedy Circus as I know that my comic abilities will rock the show.

Your fitness mantra?
Himalaya yoga and Dr Chintu’s detoxification therapy.

What are you addicted to?
I’m addicted to my guitar strings. Can’t do without strumming them every day.
Tell us one thing nobody knows about you. I can be a very good mimic.

If you could ask for any talent, what would it be?
I wish I could cook Italian food.

Blue jeans, white T-shirt, a red flowing dress, one short black dress and a pink sari.

Dark glasses at night. Could never figure that out!
