Prakash Jha is known for his hard-hitting films. In the past, he has dealt with issues such as corruption, politics and Naxalism. Now, the filmmaker is all set to share another message with his fans and this time he is targeting the youth specifically.
For the occasion of International Youth Day (IYD), which falls on August 12, Jha, along with the cast of his next film Satyagraha, has recorded a series of videos in which he appeals to the youth to stand up for their rights. “Keeping IYD in mind, Jha thought that such videos might help propagate the message among the youth. He feels that he can reach the masses more effectively through his film’s cast,” says the source.
The filmmaker, who is shooting Satyagraha with Amitabh Bachchan, Ajay Devgn, Arjun Rampal, Kareena Kapoor and Manoj Bajpayee, has started shooting these videos whenever he finds time between the shoots. “He has already shot a couple of them. And he wants to make it clear that none of them will be used as promotional materials for his film,” adds the source.
The content of the videos is mostly based on the Indian Constitution. “He is focusing on the right to equality, speedy prosecution of
criminals and the right to information among other issues,” says the source. Jha remained unavailable for a comment, but a senior official confirmed this development on the condition of anonymity.
