It was an action-filled year at the campus. Admission season called for rocking freshers’ parties, garam chai ki pyaali with classmates and seniors, excellent professors who gave fewer reasons to bunk classes. Also a group of creative and budding talent meant — theatre festivals and lots of extra-curricular activities. Here is our list of things that made campus the most rocking place to be in.

Lyngdoh committee’s jalwa
Six candidates belonging to major student bodies were disqualified just before the elections for Delhi University Student Union. They were flouting the norms laid down by the Lyngdoh Committee. This resulted in absence of any representations from these parties for the key post of the president.

The grand college fests
The college fests got much bigger with the budget crossing more than Rs 40 lakh in some of fests such as: IIT Delhi’s Rendezvous and AIIMS Pulse.

Placement packages became fat
Adit Mathur of Sri Ram College of Commerce was offered a package of Rs 32 lakh by an international bank. Sri Venkateswara College, Lady Sri Ram, Kirori Mal, Ramjas and other DU colleges are reaping the gains of the hiring spree.

JNU’s French connection
Naike Desquesnes, a French student in Jawaharlal Nehru University, was spotted in Bihar in the Lok Sabha elections. She was campaigning!

Hillary Clinton visits DU
On her Delhi trip, US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton met the students of the Delhi University at a seminar. There she addressed issues such as education and feminism.
