Shark Tank's Anupam Mittal shaves off moustache for film, is called ‘struggling actor’. Watch BTS video

Shaadi.com co-founder Anupam Mittal of Shark Tank fame featured in a film for which he even shaved off his beard and moustache. The film tracks his journey over the last two decades.

Shark Tank's Anupam Mittal, co-founder of Shaadi.com, has finally made his film debut, though as a brand endorsement for his company. He shared a behind-the-scenes video from the making of the film to show how he became an actor, tried different looks and wigs and even shaved off his moustache for his role in the film that tracks his journey over the pa20 years.

Anupam Mittal has shared a behind-the-scenes video of his upcoming film. 

Sharing the video on Instagram, Anupam Mittal wrote, "From trying wigs to going clean-shaven to multiple takes and then struggling to act, it took a lot to get this film right. Here it is, all caught on the #BTS of #anupamkishaadi … the film about the Shaadi.com journey. Great work team @shaadi.com in capturing these moments and making this film even though at times, I did not believe."

The video shows Anupam getting into his role as a young clean-shaven cricketer, shooting in front of the croma screen. He is also seen shaving off his beard himself and saying, “kya, kya karna padta hai yar kaam ke liye, kujh to chhod dia hota, moojhe chhod di hoti (what all one has to do for work, some things could have been spared, atleast the moustache).”

The film has been directed by Nishant Nayak, who says in the video, “Anupam is a perfectionist. He always wants to give you a better take. I loved his enthusiasm and it's been great working with him.” Another team member said Anupam reminds him of the dialogue from Salman Khan's film Wanted, “Ye kis field mein aagaye aap Uday bhai (Where have you come Uday bhai)?”

Anupam's team member Adhish Zaveri, AVP Marketing Shaadi.com, even joked, “Successful businessman but struggling actor,” as he talked about the making of the film. Anupam called the film “relatable” and said it would inspire budding entrepreneurs as they would see even he has gone through the same struggles.

A fan commented on the video, “I'm very excited to see your film because your story is very inspiring, sir...” Another said about the scale of the film, “Bahut kharcha kar diya lagta hai sir. (you seem to have spent a lot of money).” A fan even said, “Sir you are looking like absolutely Tony Stark. Also your style matches with his.” One fan also called him, “Indian Tom Cruise”.
