I’m a student of Atma Ram College. We are eight girls in our friends’ circle. We all have common passions in life. We all love Shah Rukh Khan. We all dislike Himesh Reshammiya. We all hate playing holi.
The painted faces look horrible and it is a chore to wash them later. And not one of us has a boyfriend. Except one. He is also in our college. Well, after our classes were over, we were waiting for the bus in Lodhi Road when this friend’s boyfriend came rushing towards us and covered her face with red gulal (dry colour). The rest of us ran for our lives. But, now this friend had tasted blood and she came pouncing at me.
And lo, I too was covered with red gulal. Not wishing that others be spared, I ran after another friend. And soon we all were playing with colours. When we got tired of each other, we threw colours at the people in the bus stand, saying “Bura na maano, Holi hai (Don’t be angry, it’s Holi). It was so much fun. Now we all love Holi. Happy Holi.
