Doctors say that there has been an increase of 30-40% in the number of men in the age group 20-25, opting for surgeries in the run up to the occasion. “Some of them plan surgeries well in advance to get the result around Valentine’s Day. These include chest fat reduction, nose jobs and surgeries to get dimples,” says Dr Anup Dhir of Apollo Hospital. However, some walk in just a few days before the big day. “We have youngsters walking in with requests to do away with pigmentation, acne scars, blemishes and moles,” says Dr Pritam Pankaj, a laser surgeon. Bollywood is also an inspiration. “Recently a young boy came demanding fuller lips like actor Ranbir Kapoor,” says Dr Seema Malik of Eleganza Rejuvenation clinic.

Guys feel there is nothing wrong in this. “I feel more confident and I am hopeful of getting a girlfriend this Valentine’s,” says Sahil Khillan, 26, who got rid of eye bags with cosmetic surgery.
