Velvet and cotton are great for storing delicate stones like pearls. Swatches can be cut from the fabric and made to wrap around them.
Humidity woes:
Precious metals with high gold content mostly remain unaffected during the monsoon. In case of deflection of colour, one should use abrasive jewellery cleaning cloth or soft leather.
Store well:
Wrap the jewellery in tissue or cotton and keep it in a cupboard where it is not exposed to air or light, to keep it safe from damage.
Special attention:
Jadau jewellery needs to be stored in layers of cotton wool in airtight boxes to keep the monsoon moisture at bay.
Monsoon special:
Avoid re-polishing unless really required, to prevent metal weight loss during this season.
