The cricketer, who is currently touring in New Zealand, is the ambassador of Kolkata Fashion Week, slated for April 2-5. “I am really happy to be associated with this fashion week,” Dhoni told us. “It’s a new, brave initiative. I hope my being the brand ambassador will benefit this event.”

“He has been confirmed as the brand ambassador [for four years], but it’s not certain whether he’ll be walking the ramp,” said Yudhajit Dutta, managing director of the Mindscape Group of companies, which is organising the KFW. As for why Dhoni, Dutta said, “We wanted a personality who is outside the state [of West Bengal], can grab media spotlight and also has great appeal among the youth.”
