Former Spice Girl and designer Victoria Beckham won the Designer Brand of the Year title at the British Fashion Awards. After winning the title, she got emotional as she beat Stella McCartney, Burberry and former Gucci and YSL director Tom Ford to receive the honour.

"I'm so sorry for crying. This is really rubbish of me. I am so nervous, this means so much to me," Beckham said after receiving the award.

The mother of four paid tribute to her soccer ace husband, David Beckham, and said: "Without David I wouldn't have had the courage to do what I'm doing."

The 37-year-old dazzled in a backless black gown for the awards ceremony.
