This Independence Day, flaunt your patriotism by incorporating organic fabrics that's easily available in your wardrobe or in the local market. HT City asked three of the city’s leading designers on how to create that ‘patriotic’ look.

Designer Ritu Beri says, “Team up your blue denims with a crisp white shirt. And then tie a scarf in orange and green around your neck.” She further adds, “You can accessorise with a necklace or bangles in the three hues.”

Designer Reynu Taandon suggests. “A white chikan sari with a blouse with green and saffron threadwork looks great. Team it with kolhapuris. You could also wear a white khadi suit with wooden buttons in saffron and green over its panels. To accessorise this look, wear thick bangles in saffron and green,” Taandon says.

Designer Nida Mahmood feels that Independence Day should be interpreted in an out-of-the-box way. She says, “Wear a plain white T-shirt and write slogans about issues that you feel about be it corruption, child abuse et al with fabric paints or a permanent marker.”

Creating the tricolour look is very easy. All the items mentioned here are easily available in the market. Just wear it right and flaunt your Indianess!
