Dress in layers: It can get quite sticky and warm as you wait in the check-in line and then get very chilly when you get into the plane. So layer with a sweater/poncho/boyfriend-fit jacket. This way, you can easily peel it off or put it back on. The same rule also applies for men. You can keep it trendy with a hoodie or a sweatshirt. Just make it a point to skip any funny slogan printed T-shirts. Leave them for the kids!

Avoid Metal: With the stringent security checks at airports these days, it’s best to stay away from metal in your travel outfit. This rule applies to both men and women. So skip the metal buckle belts or shoes or the chain-link necklaces. Women should even avoid wearing metal underwire brasseries to avoid any unsavoury pat down searches.

Wear slip-on shoes: It’s just comfortable to take them off at security check or in the plane. Tight boots, heels, etc can get very uncomfortable, especially on long haul flights.

Keep a change handy: This rule is very important and doesn’t apply just to the resident divas, fashionistas and actors. Especially if it’s a long haul flight, it’s best advised to change before you land. After all, you don’t want to arrive all stinky at the end of your trip.
