Germany and Costa Rica both commit a number of mistakes during their FIFA U-17 World Cup encounter on Friday, but both the coaches were not ready to put knife to their throat for committing.
“These are just young guys. Still developing their game so they are bound to commit mistakes,” said Costa Rica coach Breansse Camacho, who saw his team concede both the goals through a mistake committed by his defenders.
Germany’s Noah Awuku, who came on as a second half substitute capitalised on Costa Rica centre-back Fernan Faerron’s mistake to score a late winner for his team.
Camacho said that he was already focussing on helping his players out of the nightmarish outing and he believes that the team is already focused on the next game and Guinea on October 10. “Our players know they are playing in the World Cup and they will surely get over it soon and focus on next game.”
German coach Christian Wuck wasn’t straight away planning the next game against Iran giving his players time to relax. “It’s very important top sleep, rest, drink – not beer but water,” said Wuck when he was quizzed about their next match against the Asian powerhouse, who are accustomed to the Goan weather and stadium thanks to their outing at the AFC U-16 Championship last year.
While there were few points to ponder over and he did rue the missed chance, he also spoke of the positives that he can carry from the match into the upcoming matches.
