On a day which is usually known for crazy player transfers, Pellegrini announced during his weekly press briefing that he will be stepping down from his post to facilitate Guardiola’s much anticipated arrival on June 30, 2016.
While the contents of the revelations were hardly surprising, given the deluge of speculation about Pellegrini’s position, the timing was surprising for almost all the football enthusiasts.
The entire football community was caught completely off guard and the shock was completely visible on Twitter.
Even the football experts decided to express their views on the social media platform.
