HT GIFA opening ceremony to kick off with a bang
With Akshay Kumar, DJ Sumit and ‘Astitva’ set to headline the extravaganza, the festive evening will be a blend of Bollywood, music and football
Staying true to its grand nature, Delhi NCR’s biggest inter-locality football tournament for kids will open with a star-studded event at the Thyagaraj Stadium on Saturday. After a participation of over 2300 teams in registration, 750 teams in pre-qualifiers and over 1.1 lakh votes collected for the wild card entry, the momentum will only continue with an extravagant celebration of sports and entertainment.
Much like the competition, there are some amazing acts lined up for the opening night, which promises to be memorable.
Bollywood’s biggest ‘khiladi’ Akshay Kumar is all set to bring his star power and infectious energy to charm the audience. A sports enthusiast and football lover himself, Akshay was present at last year’s opening ceremony as well and will return for season 3, riding high on the success of this year’s hit movies ‘Airlift’ and ‘Rustom’.
Professional football players Souvik Chakraborty, Toni Doblas, Kean Lewis and Arjun Tudu who play for Indian Super League club Delhi Dynamos will also be present to share some tips and tricks with the budding footballers.
Other headline acts include Sumit Sethi, a well-known Delhi-based DJ. He has planned a special set of tracks to keep the audience entertained through the evening. Popular Hindi band Astitva will also be performing their songs with a blend of rock, jazz and classical. The highlight of the night though, is set to be the unveiling of this year’s winners’ trophy.
This is just a glimpse and there’s a lot more action in store. The HT GIFA opening ceremony is sure to be a crackling night and will kick-off the action in style.
