Raul was replaced shortly after scoring the first goal in a 2-1 win over Zaragoza on Saturday.
Spanish media are speculating that it may have been his last game for Real Madrid. A veritable institution at the club for 16 seasons and still the captain, he has played little this year in a side that paid big money over the summer to acquire players like Cristiano Ronaldo and Kaka.
The team said on Monday that will be sideline for at least four weeks. There are four games left in the season, which ends on the weekend of May 15-16.
Separately, the team said Rafael van der Vaart will miss at least three weeks because of an injury to his left thigh.
