Bharat Bhushan, cab driver, working at the Delhi Airport reportedly died in police custody on Saturday. Bhushan was picked up from his house after his wife Neetu Singh consumed poison. In her complaint, she had alleged domestic violence against her husband. But parents of the deceased have alleged that their son died due to police brutalities and demanded strict action.

Meanwhile, the police have denied the charges and claimed the deceased died of heart attack.

The police said, Neetu Singh a resident of Rajendra Park was admitted to Columbia Asia Hospital, Palam Vihar on Saturday after she consumed poison. She had complained that her husband Bharat Bhushan, who was a taxi driver at the Delhi Airport use to torture her.

Jai Bhagwan father of the deceased, working in the Indian Railways, was informed by his younger son about the tragedy.

“The police are pressuring us to sign documents for post-mortem, but until FIR is registered against the police officials, we will not claim the body,” said Bhagwan.

The post-mortem could not be conducted on Sunday. SHO Rajendra Park, inspector Bijender Hooda said, he was picked from his residence in the afternoon. In the evening he complained of chest pain and was immediately taken to a private hospital where he was declared dead.
